Jay Handline Owner and
National Director Jay Handline is a Nationally acclaimed Jazz Funk Fusion Choreographer. Jay tips the scales of dance exercise by incorporating the latest jazz and modern dance interpretation with street dance, hip hop, and funk movement into a class that is unlike any other. Students seek out Jay's class because of the extremes in choreography and style. You never get hung up on just one form of dance. Hip hop, jazz, Latin, African, funk, streetdance, ambient, house, trance and even hard rock-n-roll are all a part of the Dance Trance experience. Many talented performers have heavily influenced Jay over the past 15 years. Well known artists such as Barry Joyce, Leonard Roberson and Sharon Caplan in Atlanta helped form a Deep South approach. In New York, Patricia Moreno, Calvin Wiley and Monique Dash added a street influence that was hip, edgy and off the curb. The West Coast presented a style incorporated on ESPN's Fitness Pro's and Fit TV with performers like Pepper Von. Angie Bunch and the entire Culture Shock posse in particular Kevin Maddox in Atlanta are his idols for community involvement. Jay has never left his roots during his extensive travel and always offers "Top Props" to his core group throughout Florida. This is his real body of influence and this is what keeps Dance Trance thriving today. Jay has continued teaching in dance oriented programs up and down the East Coast. He has choreographed numerous performances and is a highly sought after Masterclass instructor. |
